Dear Internet Using Human,
I’ve spent the better part of a year designing a new form of training and now I’d like to find more guinea pigs to experiment upon. I’ve seen great impacts in the lives of the people I’ve worked with, and now I’m looking to expand my study.
The purpose of this training is to become a more responsible human. We do this by creating a context through which to see your life that facilitates meaning, health, fulfillment, integrity, self-actualization and intimacy. We will also build behavior patterns that lead to greater autonomy, clarity, balance, and, ultimately, self-authorship. What responsibility looks like is different for every person, but it always involves doing what you know you need to do to live a life you can be proud of. This training helps you do that.
The process mixes techniques and concepts from the worlds of contemplative practice, narrative therapy, socratic dialogue, monasticism, restorative justice, satire, authentic relating, and developmental psychology.
I’m looking for people, ideally (but not necessarily) between the ages of 20 and 30, who experience a tension between the objectives of making money and making meaning. This tension has defined my life and, increasingly, it is coming to define my work.
If you’re interested in taking part in this little experiment here are the qualifications:
- You must be willing to work with me over the course of five hour-long one on one sessions
- You must be willing to engage in accountability practices and mutually agreed upon behavioral commitments
- You must be willing to question the ways you see the world and to practice new ways of seeing
- You must be willing to turn toward and investigate the problems, tensions, and issues of your life
- You must be willing to give me honest and thoughtful feedback about your experience of this experiment
The total cost of the program is 5X whatever you make for an hour of work. If you flip burgers at McDonalds the total cost would be $40 (depending on what state you live in). If you are a high-powered lawyer making $300 an hour the cost of the program would be $1500. If, for whatever reason, the cost is prohibitive but you meet all the qualifications and feel called to participate, get in touch and we can work something out.
If you’re interested or want more details please fill out the contact form below.
